The American Jewish Congress today announced that its three-day biennial convention will open in New York on November 17 with 1,200 delegates from all parts of the country participating.
The convention will consider action on foreign and domestic problems and issues of major concern to American Jews, the announcement said. It will study the relationship of Israel and American Jewry and will discuss fundamental issues in the fields of civil rights, civil liberties and church-state relationships.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
