Israel Army Made “considerable Progress, ” Yadin Reports

Israel’s Army of Defense has made “considerable progress” in the past two years in the process of becoming a modern army, Brig’. Yigal Yadin, Chief of Staff, said here today. The large-scale maneuvers which were Completed recently had successfully proven what the goodwill of the civilian population can bring to the success of military operations, he stated.

The Israeli military commander warned that the war against the Arab enemy who considerably outnumbered the Israelis is still continuing and that Israeli forces are being engaged daily by infiltrates. The question of how to check Arab infiltration into Israel was discussed at a special meeting of the Security and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament which was attended by Brig. Yadin and Premier David Ben Grunion, in his capacity of Minister of Defense.
