The municipality of Paris has granted a plot of land for the erection of a memorial to the 6,000, 000 Jews slain by the Nazis, Israel Schneerson, president of the Jewish Documentation Center, announced here at a reception given by the Center in honor of Nathan Chanin, American Jewish labor leader who is visiting Paris. Mr. Chanin pledged himself to rally the aid of Jewish labor in America for the erection of the memorial.

The land granted by the city adjoins the city hall. It will be officially turned over to the Center as soon as the raising operations now underway are completed.
