Plans for channeling Jewish emigration from Turkey to Israel through Iskende have been abandoned and the expected migration will be handled through Istanbul where Israeli transports will embark immigrants, it was learned here today.

Turkish authorities are completing the necessary formalities to permit the newly arrived Israel immigration officer to begin his work of processing Jews from Persia for transit through Turkey to Israel. It is expected that the immigration officer will begin work soon, although no mass migration can take place during the winter months because of the severs weather in Eastern Turkey, through which Persian Jews must travel.
