The 15th anniversary of the World Jewish Congress was celebrated here tonight at a dinner at the Savoy Hotel attended by more than 500 guests, including many prominent non-Jews. Principal speakers included Herbert Morrison, former British Foreign Secretary; the Marquis of Reading, Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the American Jewish Congress.

Dr. Goldstein said: “We want to see Jewish life flourish wherever Jewish life is free to flourish, but we believe that in order to flourish truly, authentically and vitally, it must come under the nourishing spiritual rays of Zion’s sons. We there fore look to Israel to be more than another slate on the world map.”
