Dr. A. Silberschein, Noted Labor Zionist, Dies in Switzerland

Information received here today from Geneva reports the death there of Dr. Abraham Silberschein, former member of the Polish Parliament and noted Labor Zionist leader who prior to the outbreak of World War II was the head of the Jewish cooperative movement in Galicia, Poland. Dr. Silberschein played an important role during the war in rescuing Jews from Nazioccupied Poland through underground activities which he directed from Geneva. He was a member of the Zionist Actions Committee and vice-president of the Zionist Congress Court.
