The first of a series of conferences aimed at bringing about greater co-ordination between the Israeli Bond Drive and the United Jewish Appeal in the United States took place today in the home of Premier David Ben Gurion. Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, vice-chairman of the U.J.A. , and Henry Montor, head of the Israeli bond campaign, participated.

Upon his landing at the Lydda airport yesterday, Dr. Schwartz told newsmen that he supports the proposed negotiations with Germany for reparations only if there are good prospects for receiving considerable sums from the Bonn Government. “If Germany is ready to make only a symbolic payment, ” he said, then the negotiations would not be a “wise thing.”
