The DAIA, representative body of Argentine Jewry, last night voted to oppose direct negotiations by Israel with Germany for reparations. It did, however, endorse the decisions of the September conference on German reparations held in New York.

An alternate motion, calling for support of the Israeli Parliament’s decision to negotiate directly with the Germans, was defeated by 38 to 32, with two abstentions. This was the second meeting on the subject held in a week. Both lengthy sessions were marked by bitter debate.
