The chemist who synthesized two anti-tuberculosis drugs which are being hailed as a possible agent to halt almost any form of tucerculosis is a Jewish scientist, Dr. Herbert Fox, it was revealed here today.

The cost of the treatments given to an experimental group of 190 tubercular patients at the Sea View Hospital, on Staten Island, New York, is about 25 to 50 cents a day, a phenomenally low figure. The experimental group is being cared for under the direction of Dr. Edward Robitzek, acting director of the hospital’s medicine department, and Dr. Irving J. Selikoff, a visiting physician at the hospital.
