Orthodox Jews in London spent a meatless weekend as a result of a strike of Jewish ritual slaughterers over working conditions. The president of the Board of Schechita announced that as a result of the strike, no kosher meat rations were available.

No kosher meat may be available next week and for Passover, which commences April 9, although officials said there was a “good chance” that part of the ration will be honored next week.
