Israel Ambassador and Mrs. Abba Eban were hosts tonight at a dinner in honor of Viscount Herbert Samuel of London, chairman of the board of Governors of Hebrew University.

Among the guests were Mutual Security Director W. Averill Harriman, Secretary of Agriculture Charles Brannan, Sen. Herbert H. Lehman, Chairman James Richards of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Reps. Emanuel Celler, James Fulton and Abraham Ribicoff, Federal Security Administrator Oscar R. Ewing, Chairman Leon Keyserling of President Truman’s Council of Economic Advisers, Commissioner F. Joseph Donohue of the District of Columbia, Henry A. Byroade, who has been designated as the new Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, G.L. Jones, director of the Near Eastern Division of the State Department.
