Non-governmental Groups Open Parley on Migration at U.N.

The third session of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations Interested in Migration opened here today. It is expected to last until April 22.

The main items on the provisional agenda of the conference are: information to be given to prospective emigrants before their departure from their country of origin, implementation of the general principles concerning the protection of migrants, assistance to indigent aliens, simplification of administrative procedures concerning migrants and an exchange of views on cooperation with the International Labor Organization in vocational training and placement of migrants. The first session of the conference was held in 1950.
