A general indemnification law will be introduced into the city council here shortly, it was announced today.
Meanwhile, the Senate of the Council approved a proposal by the Jewish community that returning Jewish emigrants be given the same type of financial assistance offered returning German prisoners of war. The Senate also agreed to grant the Jewish community financial aid for its communal work.
It was revealed that the city has appropriated some 211,000 deutschemarks for the rehabilitation and care of the Jewish cemeteries in Hamburg. In addition the city has advanced 100,000 deutschemarks in loans to Jewish citizens since the beginning of the year.
