Dr. Hans Mueller, former Secretary of State in the Bavarian Government, testifying at the trial of Dr. Philip Auerbach, former Commissioner for Restitution in the Bavarian provincial government, said that there was nothing wrong with the financial arrangements made by the defendant at the time of the German currency reform. The witness said that Dr. Auerbach’s achievements during his term of office had been without parallel.

Another witness charged that Dr. A. Orenstein had offered restitution allocations at 52 percent of their nominal value. The trial, now in its ninth week, is expected to be concluded next week.
