A total of 1,100 immigrants arrived in Israel in July, the Jewish Agency’s immigration department announced today. Some 2,500 immigrants are expected to reach Israel in August.

(From Geneva it was reported this week-end that the Intergovernmental Migration Committee will assist in the resettlement in Israel of 2,000 European Jews. An agreement with the Israel Government provides that the Committee will handle the transport of these immigrants. The cost of this program would be $108,000, it was estimated by Hugh Gibson, director of the Committee.)
