Mutual Security Administration authorities are optimistic over the prospects of new American investments in Israel as a result of encouraging reactions to foreign investment guarantee programs similar to the new American-Israel agreement.
The Mutual Security Administration staff here is preparing to handle inquiries from business men who are expected to seek information on the new guarantees extended to encourage American investment in Israel. An agency spokesman explained that the program for Israel is part of the world-wide mutual security undertaking for strengthening democracies by promoting the investment of free enterprise capital in foreign projects aiding development and the raising of standards of living.
Countries other than Israel which have concluded comparable arrangements with the United States are Austria, Belgium, Formosa, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
