Maxwell Abbell, president of the United Synagogue of America, went on record today as supporting Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Republican nominee for President of the United States. However, it was made clear in a formal announcement issued by Eisenhower’s campaign headquarters here, that Mr. Abbell speaks for himself. The United Synagogue of America is the central body of the Conservative synagogues.
