The six enrolled students have completed the second clinical training program in institutional chaplaincy and pastoral counseling conducted under Jewish auspices for rabbis and theological students, Rabbi Morris M. Goldberg, president of the New York Board of Rabbis, announced today.

The program, established last year as the first of its kind in the United States under Jewish sponsorship, is part of the New York Board of Rabbi’s chaplaincy program conducted in New York’s prisons and hospitals. It receives financial support from the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York. The 12-week course of intensive training consisted of lecture and demonstration on medical and surgical procedures, psychological films, case history seminars illustrating chaplain-patient relationships, supervised ward visiting and practical aspects of chaplaincy and pastoral counselling.
