Israel Feinberg, a pioneer in the Jewish labor movement and vice-president of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, died here last night at the age of 66, after having been in ill-health for many months.
A native of Russia, Mr. Feinberg won distinction by organizing Jewish tailors in England before emigrating to the United States in 1912. He was associated with the New York Joint Cloak Board for 40 years and had served as its general manager until early this year. He negotiated what was described as the first trade union retirement fund obtained through collective bargaining.
