Gov. G. Mennen Williams has cleared two state boards of bias in connection with questions concerning name and nationality appearing on their application blanks.
The governor investigated whether these questions, appearing on the forms of the State Board of Law Examiners and the State Board of Emaminers in Optometry, were discriminatory. He is now seeking removal of the questions from the forms, with the requested information to be submitted following the applicant’s acceptance or approval by the State bodies.
