Commenting on the American Presidential elections, the afternoon press today expressed the hope that President-elect Dwight D.Eisenhower would continue the pro-Israel policy of the Democratic Administration.

Several of the Tel Aviv newspapers published special editions on the United States elections. Interest in the elections ran so high that when the news of Gen. Eisenhower’s victory was received in the early hours of this morning the national radio immediately broadcast it to all parts of the country and local stations picked it up and rebroadcast the announcement at short intervals. The American Embassy information service and Z.O.A. House here issued election returns bulletins every half hour until the outcome was known.
