Revision of the McCarran-Walter Immigration Act was urged today by William H. Draper, U.S. special representative in Europe for the President’s commission on Immigration and Naturalization.
Mr. Draper recommended that “our immigration legislation be reconsidered in the light of our foreign policy objective with a view to the enactment of new legislation” which would eliminate discriminatory features to preclude discrimination “expressed or implied, based on nationality, race or religion.”
