Sir Robert Waley Chen, one of Britain’s prominent Jewish figures, died at his home here after a ######, at the age of 75. He was one of Britain’s leading businessmen and had extensive interests in the aid industry.

Sir Robert was long an active leader in the Brand of Deputies of British Jews. the Jewish Colonization Association and the United Synagogue. Although he had been attacked for being anti-Zionist. Sir Robert had a ### long interest in Palestine and in the work of Jewish colonization these. He was a member of the Palestine Economic Corporation board of directors, and also was active in Orthodox programs in this country.

A message of ### to Sir Robert’s son. Bernard ### Waley Cohen. from the ### of Deputies of British Jews, said “Sir Robert’s lifelong devotion to public work, his high sense of duty and his untiring effects in behalf of the community, combined with his dynamic personality, essensail him the respect of his co-religionists. His death creates a word in public communal life which cannot be filled.”
