A resolution urging the United States Government “to reject any course which would equip the Arab states for possible aggressive action against Israel,” was adopted here last night at a joint meeting of the national executive committee and the national administrative council of the Zionist Organization of America.
The resolution also urged the U.S. Government to use its good offices with the Government of Britain to discontinue sending arms to the Arab countries. It also suggested that the American Governments major immediate objective in the Middle East should be to induce the Arab states to enter into direct peace negotiations with Israel.
The meeting also adopted a resolution bailing the new coalition government of Israel and assuring it that “the Zionist Organization of America stands ready, as always, to render every assistance to it in the fulfillment of its historic responsibilities.” The meeting approved a resolution providing for the sponsoring by the Z.O.A., as a national project, the building of a colony in Israel honoring Dr. Abba Hillel Silver on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
