President Eisenhower was the recipient today of messages of greetings from American Zionist and non-Zionist groups, wishing him health and vigor to carry out his great responsibilities.
The American Zionist Council, representing all Zionist groups in the United States, sent a message reading: “The American Zionist Council, the public relations representative of all national Zionist organizations in the United States, extends its best wishes for your success as President of the United States. It expresses the hope shared by all Americans that the economic well-being of our great Republic may be sustained and furthered and that world peace may be consummated during your administration. May you be given the strength to carry the burden of your great responsibilities.”
The National Community Relations: Advisory Council, representing 32 national and local Jewish organizations engaged in combatting bigotry, said in a message to the President: “As you assume the Presidency, the 32 national and local Jewish organizations associated together in the National Community Relations Advisory Council, the joint policy formulating and coordinating agency for Jewish community relations in the United States, pray that you may be preserved in health and vigor, to realize the full potential of your office for advancing the peace of the world, the welfare and security of the nation and the extension of equal rights and equal opportunities to all Americans.”
Israel Minister David Goitein represented Israel as a diplomatic observer at the inaugural parade yesterday. Col. Chaim Herzog, chief Israel military attache, viewed the parade as a military observer.
