The ninth annual observance of the Jewish Music Festival started yesterday in Jewish communities throughout the United States and will be observed in Jewish community centers, synagogues, schools, youth council and other organizations. This year’s Festival theme is “A Musical Bridge Between Israel and America.”
Activities planned by Jewish communities include chamber music, symphony and choral recitals, lectures, exhibits, forums, interfaith music concerts and concerts featuring music by Israel and American Jewish composers. A number of national symphony orchestras, colleges, museums, public libraries, radio and television networks have planned musical events in connection with the Festival which was organized by the National Jewish Music Council, sponsored by the National Jewish Welfare Board.
