The world-wide conference of Jewish organizations opening next Tuesday in Zurich will serve as a demonstration of the determination of the Jews to resist the Communist anti-Jewish drive in Eastern Europe, Dr. Nahum Goldmann, co-chairman of the Jewish Agency, today told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency upon his arrival here. He was scheduled to confer with Premier David Ben Gurion today.

Dr. Goldmann, who expressed the hope that the conference would influence world public opinion, said that he attaches “the greatest importance” to the parley. He emphasized that this will be one of the greatest Jewish conferences of many decades, representing the entire Jewry of almost 40 countries. He expressed the belief that the few major Jewish groups which have not yet replied to the Agency’s invitation to come to the conference will join at the last minute since the conference will demonstrate Jewish unity.
