Israel Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett was greeted on his arrival here today by two aides of President Peron, Israel Minister to Argentina Dr. Yaacov Tsur, Argentine Minister to Israel Dr. Pablo Manguel and Leaders of all major Jewish organizations in Argentina. Mr. Sharett arrived early in the morning because his plane was forced to land at a small Chilean town near the Peruvian border yesterday on account of engine trouble.

Mr. Sharett, who will stay in Argentina 10 days before visiting several other Latin American countries, told the reception committee that his trip to Argentina at an official guest of the government was the “realization of a long harbored dream,” and added: “I wait for the moment to express my respects to President Peron and to reaffirm the friendly feelings between Israel and this great nation. I firmly hope that my visit will contribute even more to strengthening the friendly ties of Israel and Argentine Jewry.”

The general Argentine press today carries photographs and biographical data on the Israeli Foreign Minister and emphasizes his role in the intentional field. The Jewish press, which is given over almost completely to this “exceptional event in Jewish life” here, asserts that “all the days of his stay will be festive day.”
