A decision to strengthen the bonds of unity between the Federation of Jewish Communities of Bavaria and the Central Council of Jews in Germany was adopted at a meeting here of the Federation. It was also decided that to improve cooperation between the two bodies, the Federation would name two representatives to the board of directors of the Central Council.

Dr. J. G. Van Dam, secretary-general of the Central Council, who spoke at the Federation, conference, declared that while there had never been any actual differences between the Council and the Federation the situation of German Jewry at this time requires a “clear documentation” of its common aims. He added that it had become necessary to dispel the widespread impression that the Federation had engaged in a “policy of Bavarian separatism. “
