Police following leads in the bombing of the Education Ministry building here last week, today uncovered a secret arms cache in an abandoned Greek Orthodox monastery on the outskirts of Jerusalem and arrested two youths who came there to hide additional weapons.
A member of Israel’s Supreme Court refused to release the youths on bail, insisting that every effort must be made to aid the police in liquidating the underground movement which is a threat to Israel’s internal security.
Meanwhile, the police have disclosed that they are once again on the trail of the Brit Kanaim, a group which dissolved last year, and which the police believe responsible for threats and acts of violence against various government and non-governmental institutions. They have again detained Yehuda Ridder, a member of the group, who was arrested last year after a bombing of the Knesset.
