One Jewish watchman was killed and another seriously wounded yesterday by Arab infiltrates in an ambush at Beth Anakubah, near Kiryat Anavim. The watchmen were patrolling the settlement when a sudden volley of fire took them by surprise. A police detachment accompanied by U. N. observers and led by police bloodhounds tracked the infiltrates to a nearby Arab village.
Meanwhile, an Israel military spokesman emphatically denied an Arab report that Israeli soldiers attacked the Jordanian village of Rantis. Summarizing the results of the Israel-Jordan border agreement, which has been in effect for two weeks, the spokesman said that while Israel local commanders had received full authority to deal with outrages in their areas, the Jordanians have not extended this authority to their representatives.
Lebanese delegates to the Mixed Armistice Commission reported at a meeting yesterday that three suspects had been rounded up by Lebanese authorities in connection with recent incidents carried out in Israel territory.
