In an open letter addressed to all parties and their candidates, the Con# pressed concern that various candidates appealed for support specifically t# citizens “on the ground that their parties or candidates would advance the # the Jewish community.”
The letter pointed out that “there is no such thing as a Jewish vote and # will be judged by the Jewish citizens in accordance with their personal view # urged all political groups and candidates “at all times to refrain from raci# gious appeals and to keep sectional attitudes involving our religious or com# stitutions out of public election debate.”
