Bigotry Lessening in Canada, President of Jewish Congress Says

Bigotry has lessened in Canada during the Jewish year just concluded, it was emphasized here in a statement by Samuel Bronfman, president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, summing up the developments of the year.

Mr. Bronfman said, “The flood of bigotry, which had been so tragically let loose upon humanity some years ago has abated, and the free citizens of democratic nations can live their lives in civic peace, with more complete devotion to the advancement of humanity and the enrichment of our spiritual heritage. The enactment of fair employment practices laws federally and in a number of Canadian provinces is encouraging evidence of this trend.”
