Conference on Jewish Problems in Germany Opened in Bremen

The Central Council of Jews in Germany convened here today in a two-day meeting to discuss various aspects of Jewish life in Germany and to hammering out policy toward the West German Government, toward the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and toward the successor organizations concerned with the disposal of heirless Jewish property.

Also on the agenda are consideration of the German Federal compensation law, indemnification claims of Jewish communities and anti-Semitic incidents. Rabbi Leo Baeck, 80-year-old German Jewish leader and honorary president of the committee, who was scheduled to preside at the meeting, did not come from London where he now resides.
