Jeanette N. Leibel, executive director of Hadassah, resigned her post after 17 years of service with the women’s Zionist organization, it was announced today. Miss Leibel will accompany her husband, Arthur Lourie, to Jerusalem next month when he takes up his post as assistant director general of the Israel Foreign Ministry.

Miss Leibel’s resignation was accepted with reluctance by Hadassah’s national board. The board unanimously adopted a resolution citing Miss Leibel for her “intelligent appreciation of the fundamental principles of Hadassah’s program, and her brilliant translation of these principles into action.” Succeeding her as executive director is Miss Hannah Goldberg, a lawyer and ranking Hadassah leader, formerly of Boston.
