Plans for the establishment of a forest in Israel in honor of President Eisenhower were formulated here at the 20th annual banquet of the Jewish National Fund of Los Angeles.

Another proposal, reported at the dinner, was the establishment of a settlement in Israel in memory of the late President Weismann by the Chaim Weizmann–Los Angeles–District of the Zionist Organization of America. The 1,200 guests at the dinner, who were addressed by former Vice President Alben W. Barkley, set a goal of $100,000 for JNF.
