Two Jewish children were among the known dead following Sunday’s freak tornado which devastated this city, killing at least 30 persons, injuring hundreds more, rendering 1,200 homeless and destroying property estimated to be worth $25,000,000.

Several other Jews were among the injured and one Jewish family was homeless, according to Dr, Nathan B. Lewis, president of the local congregation. Members of the Jewish community are working side by side with the 1,500 neighbors of all faiths and 1,500 U. S. Army men who are still excavating in the ruins searching for bodies and survivors of the holocaust.
