Jewish Chaplains Decorated for Meritorious Service in Korea

Three Jewish chaplains were decorated for excellent service and outstanding performance of duty in Korea, it was announced today by the National Jewish Welfare Board. The three are: Chaplain Norman T. Goldberg, now on active duty with the Air Force in Korea; Chaplain Maurice S. Kleinberg, now on duty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. 4; and former Chaplain Murray I. Rothman, who has returned from active service in Korea with the First Marine Division.

Nine new Jewish chaplains recently entered the U.S. Armed Forces, it was announced today by Rabbi Joseph H. Lookstein, chairman of the National Jewish Welfare Board’s Commission on Jewish Chaplaincy. The chaplains received their ecclesiastical endorsement from the Commission, which represents the three major rabbinical bodies in the U. S.
