The resurgence of British Fascism, based squarely on anti-Semitism, was predicted here this week-end following a “reunion” of Sir Oswald Mosley’s “Union Movement.”
Reporting the proceedings of this public meeting, at which some 300 British Black Shirts gave the Nazi salute, sang the Nazi Horst Wessel song and bellowed “obscenities about the Jews,” the “Picture Past,” one of Britain’s leading illustrated magazines, said that the significance of the meeting’s being held in East London was that here Fascism is based “four square on anti-Semitism.”
The magazine article said that Mosley admitted that after a series of public and private meetings this year, he plans to run for Parliament in East London.
