A Jesuit priest. Rev. Stephene Valiquette, of Montreal, has been appointed executive director of the new permanent office of the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews here. Rev. Valiquette, who has been active in brotherhood work in Quebec, is believed to be the first Roman Catholic priest to be appointed to such a post. The aim of the organization is “to promote justice, amity, understanding and cooperation among Catholics, Protestants and Jews.”
