King Gustav VI of Sweden today granted a half-hour audience to Israel Labor Minister Golda Myerson. During their meeting, Mrs. Myerson presented the King with an ancient glass pane which had been excavated in the Bethlehem area as a gift of the Israel Government.
Last night, Mrs. Myerson was honored at a banquet at City Hall, given by the Swedish-Israel Society, Mrs. Myerson told the diners that peace between Israel and the Arab states will come when the Arab states realize that it would benefit them as much as the Jewish State. She reviewed the progress made in Israel in the industrial and agricultural spheres and predicted that one day Israel would be able to produce enough food to feed her own people and export some.
Stockholm Mayor Carl Albert Andersson and Prof. A. Hoimbaeck, chairman of the Swedish-Israel Society, praised Israel for accepting hundreds of thousands of refugees and helping them remake their lives. Israel Minister Avraham Nissan also spoke.
