Israel is a stable factor in the Middle East situation, particularly in the light of recent events in the Arab states, Dr. Joseph Burg, Israel Minister of Transport, declared today upon his arrival here from Chile.

Addressing a press conference, Dr. Burg, who is touring Latin America in behalf of Israel bond sales, stated that Israel was in a somewhat better financial situation now since the government had adopted strong anti-inflationary measures including restricting credit. He said that thanks to the aid of American Jewry, Israel is now in a position to meet its short-term obligations and reported that the Jewish State is increasing its production of goods for export.
