The Farband-Labor Zionist Order today protested to the State Department against its decision to arm Iraq, noting that this decision was a step in the direction of destroying the United States policy of promoting peaceful relations among the free nations of the world. The protest was signed by Meyer Brown and Louis Segal, president and secretary, respectively, of the organization.

“Sending arms to Iraq will prove detrimental to the State of Israel, and will aggravate even more the tense situation existing in the Middle East,” the protest declared, adding: “The Government of Iraq has refused to sign an armistice agreement with the State of Israel and is following the line of all Arab countries, refusing to enter into negotiations with Israel for a permanent peace. “
