The Israel merchant fleet now numbers 29 vessels with a total tonnage of 114,000 tons, Dr. H. Vidra, director of the ZIM shipping line, said last night at a conference of the Israel Maritime League, which was held aboard the vessel Jerusalem in this port. The 250 delegates made a number of decisions concerning the education of Israeli seamen while at sea and called for improvement of welfare provisions for them.
