Israel should be self-supporting in five years if grants and reparations proceeds are used carefully, Bruce McDaniel, retiring head of the American technical aid mission to Israel, declared today during a tour of various development projects undertaken with United States grant-in-aid or Israel counterpart funds.
The tour, in the nature of a final inspection trip for Mr. McDaniel, who leaves Israel next month, was made in the company of a number of journalists through whom he thanked all those who had helped him in his mission of assisting Israel.
