B’nai B’rith has been honored by the American Red Cross for its efforts during the past year in obtaining thousands of members for that organization, it was announced today by Sidney G. Kusworm, of Dayton, chairman of the B’nai B’rith National Commission on Americanism and Civic Affairs. The American Red Cross certificate of honor was presented to B’nai B’rith “in grateful recognition of outstanding public service during the 1954 campaign for funds and members.”
At the same time, Mr. Kusworm disclosed that the all-year, five-point program of B’nai B’rith, in finding jobs for the physically-handicapped, drew from Maj. Gen. Melvin J. Maas a national commendation “in grateful appreciation of service.” General Maas is chairman of the President’s Committee on Employment of the Physically Handicapped.
