There is “deep apprehension” in Israel over the attempts by the United States and Britain to appease the Arab states, Moshe Bitan, Histadrut representative in America, declared here this week-end at the sixth national convention of the Labor Zionist Movement of Canada. He pledged that Israel would defend itself regardless of any form of appeasement by the Western Powers.

The parley heard a report to the effect that the Canadian Labor Zionist Movement had raised more than $2, 000, 000 for the Histadrut in the past four years. A special session was held on problems of Jewish education and plans were made to increase the enrollment and expand the facilities of Jewish schools in this country.
