U.S. Embassy in Israel, ZOA to Mark U.S. Jewish Tercentenary

The United States Embassy has offered to participate actively in a nine-day program marking the American Jewish Tercentenary which will get under way at ZOA House here next Sunday, according to an announcement today by Jacob Alkow, chairman of the ZOA House activities committee.

U.S. Charge d’Affaires Francis Russel, and Israel Trade Minister Peretz Bernstein will deliver brief messages at the opening event scheduled for Sunday. Addresses will also be delivered by Dr. Lincoln Hale, director of the U.S. Operations Mission in Israel, and Mrs. Eleanor V. Templeton, the Embassy’s information officer. At the gala event, a special program of contemporary American music will be presented.

The American Embassy has supplied a number of important documents connected with the life of American Jews, and these will be displayed at ZOA House. On Monday, the Embassy will also publish a pamphlet, in the Hebrew language, marking the formal beginning of the celebration in honor of the American Jewish Tercentenary.
