Canadian Government Names Macdermot First Ambassador to Israel

T. W. Macdermot, Canadian Ambassador to Greece, has been named Canada’s first Ambassador to Israel, the Department of External Affairs announced here this week-end. Mr. Macdermot will proceed to Israel soon to present his credentials. Meanwhile, George P. Kidd, who will act as Canadian Charge d’affaires, has already opened the Canadian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
