Israel Mayor Operated on in Boston; Will Promote Investments

Mayor Oved Ben Ami of Nathanya, Israel, who arrived last month in this country to help promote large-scale financial investments in Israel industries, has undergone a successful operation in Boston and is now recuperating at a New York hotel, it was announced here today.

Mr. Ben-Ami intends to meet shortly with leading financiers here to set up a corporation for the promotion of pioneer industries in Israel. He will be received by Mayor Robert Wagner of New York to whom he will present an invitation to the Second World Assembly of Jewish Choirs scheduled to be held in Israel during July, 1955. Fifteen choirs from the United States, numbering 500 voices, will participate in the song festival which will take place during the assembly.
